Learning Objectives

1. Increase Artistic Literacy of New Media: Being able to increase my knowledge of new media and technology in art will not only help my own artistic endeavors, but also contribute to becoming a marketable teacher. Knowing more materials and artistic processes will be useful because I will not be a singular skilled teacher. I could teach various classes and even merge some of the artistic processes for further collaboration.
2. Learn About How Other Artists and Educators Implement New Media into Practice: Researching other people in the field that already use new technology in their practice will inform me of how to do the same. If I believe that the individual was successful, I could use their process in my own future teaching. Their work can also be used as inspiration in my classroom.
3. Practice Collaboration Among Artists and Educators: Being able to collaborate is important in any field. Collaboration ensures improvement because of the collective effort for success. This will also be beneficial practice for future collaborations with educators and artists. Being part of the collaborative process is also good experience and will be a good example for future students.
