Scratch Creative Assignment

Creating this Scratch game was a challenge. Throughout the making of it, I was constantly experimenting, playing, and troubleshooting what would work and what wouldn't. I was also trying to utilize YouTube tutorials and friends of mine who know how to code. I found that the process of making can be similar to material exploration in fine art. Students could use Scratch to make their creations come to life as animations or interactive games. Scratch also lends the opportunity to use graphic design because of the feature to upload your own designs for sprites and backgrounds.

  1. I love your game Annie! So fun and a great use of scratch. I think the addition of the jumping mechanism really helps keep the users attention. I think to take this further, you could add another moving mechanism, like a multiplayer or have the fruit fall instead of float.

  2. This game was so fun to play in class! I could really feel that you had a handle on scratch by making it. One thing that might be cool to add is a 1-minute "round timer" where players of your game are timed to collect as many fruits as possible. When the round ends, the score could be presented in large font on the screen for players to see. This way multiple players can compete against each other and keep track of their scores, rather than the game being completely endless.
